Tom back here today, and today we are taking a look at a little bit of an older Halo set. This is set GCM44 -UNSC Hornet Blitz. This set retails for approximately 19.99, and includes 207 pieces.
Hornet Blitz is a set which released back in 2019 – and it features a complete redesign of the iconic UNSC Hornet which many of us fell in love with during play-throughs of Halo 3. The set comes in the newer metallic green colour scheme, and incorporates more printed details than previous versions of the Hornet, whilst featuring a smaller and more compact profile.
The vehicle features an opening cockpit which can fit one figure, and also features pegs on either side of the vehicle’s hull – allowing you to attach Marines to the vehicle like you can in game. Alongside these features, you can also fire missile launchers which are built into the vehicle, and can also rotate the engine pods found on the vehicle, too.
Whilst this is certainly a less detailed build than previous variants of the Hornet, it is one which I appreciate. It has a ton of detail packed into its smaller frame and comes to life when figures are mounted on it.
On the subject of figures – this set includes two. We get a UNSC Pilot in the Halo 3 aesthetic complete with a Black Magnum, and then we also get a Grunt Major from Halo 3, although this figure comes with the Halo 5 version of the Fuel Rod Cannon. Both are nice figures which complement the set well.
That’s it for our look at UNSC Hornet Blitz! This is a fantastic smaller-scale set which is still relatively widely available today, so if your UNSC forces need some additional aerial support, then you won’t want to miss out on this set.
