Throughout the vast expanse of the Halo universe, countless sapient species have flourished, each leaving an indelible mark on the cosmic tapestry. Among them, the towering pillars of history stand tall, beginning with the mighty Forerunners. These enigmatic beings reigned supreme over the galaxy for millions of years, wielding their immense power to enforce their dominance upon any species that dared challenge their authority. Their rule was unyielding, except when faced with an ancient menace known as the Flood. Originating from the enigmatic Precursors, the Flood proved to be a formidable adversary, capable of toppling even the mighty Forerunner civilization. In a desperate bid to halt the spread of this insidious parasite, the Forerunners were compelled to activate the Halo Array, unleashing a cataclysmic act of galactic genocide upon all sapient life.

But the cycle of life persisted, as the galaxy lay dormant, awaiting its rebirth. A hundred thousand years passed, and new chapters unfolded. The seeds of hope took root, sown by the Librarian and the Forerunner Conservation Measure. Rising from the ashes, humanity emerged as a force to be reckoned with, destined for greatness. Yet, their ascendancy encountered a pivotal turning point in the year 2525. It was then that humanity made a fateful first contact with the vast Covenant hegemony, a confluence of over half a dozen distinct sapient alien races, united by a fervent desire to eradicate humanity from the cosmos.
