His dedicated service to the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) aboard the Phoenix-class warship, Spirit of Fire, dates back to the year 2531. It was during the intense Battle for Arcadia that Red Team, led by Jerome, merged their exceptional combat prowess with the Spirit of Fire's crew.
Over the years, Jerome-092 has remained a steadfast member of the Spirit of Fire's complement, demonstrating unwavering loyalty to both the ship and his fellow Spartans. His service extends to some of the most critical conflicts in the Halo universe, including deployments on the Ark in the tumultuous year 2559. Jerome's leadership and combat skills continue to play a pivotal role in the ongoing battles faced by the UNSC and the Spirit of Fire's crew.
Service Record
Jerome-092, originally known as Jerome Cable, hailed from the inner colony world of Minister and was born in the year 2511. His life took a significant turn in 2517 when he was forcibly conscripted into the Spartan-II program. Following years of training and preparation, the pivotal year of 2525 saw Jerome undergo the augmentations alongside his fellow Spartan-IIs. Unfortunately, like some others, his body initially struggled to adapt to the augmentations, resulting in his temporary washout from the program. However, perseverance paid off, and after successful re-augmentation, Jerome was entrusted with the leadership of a newly formed Spartan team, Red Team.
By the year 2531, Jerome and Red Team found themselves embroiled in the Battle for Arcadia, where their paths converged with the UNSC Spirit of Fire. During this intense conflict, Professor Ellen Anders was abducted by the formidable Covenant forces, drawing the Spirit of Fire and Red Team into the Battle of the Etran Harborage. Jerome-092 and his team played a pivotal role in securing victory during this engagement, but it came at the cost of the Spirit of Fire's slipspace drive, leaving the ship adrift in space for a prolonged period, with the crew entering stasis.
Fast forward to the year 2559, Jerome-092, along with the entire Spirit of Fire crew, found themselves above Installation 00, commonly referred to as the Ark. Their investigation led them to a fateful encounter with the leader of the Banished, Atriox. In their initial confrontation, Atriox proved to be a formidable adversary, causing significant injury to Douglas-042 and challenging the entire Red Team. However, Jerome-092's resourcefulness came to the fore during this battle.
Jerome-092 successfully infiltrated the Enduring Conviction, a Banished ship, and, with the assistance of UNSC AI Isabel, activated the ship's devastating glassing beam. This action triggered the Ark's sentinels into action, leading to the eventual destruction of the Enduring Conviction. Jerome's leadership and strategic acumen continue to be assets in the ongoing battles within the Halo universe.
