The Battle for Earth was a large-scale space, air, and ground battle between the invading Covenant forces and the UNSC Home Fleet on and around Earth at the end of 2552.
The Battle of Installation 05 was an engagement between the Covenant forces, including those that fled the Battle for Earth, High Charity, and the Second Fleet of Homogeneous Clarity, and the UNSC-allied forces, including the UNSC In Amber Clad led by Miranda Keyes, and the Fleet of Retribution led by the Arbiter Thel 'Vadam.
The Battle of Installation 00 was a major conflict between the forces stationed aboard the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn and Arbiter Thel 'Vadam's Fleet of Retribution, and the Covenant fleet loyal to the Prophet of Truth.
The Attack on Rahnelo was an unprovoked attack by the San'Shyuum Prelate Tem'Bhetek, directed by the former Covenant Minister of Preparation Boru'a'Neem, on the Sangheili colony world of Rahnelo towards the end of 2553.

Though not the largest class of ship, the CAS-class assault carrier is probably the most feared vessel in the Covenant fleet due to its power and ubiquity. Of those, the Shadow of Intent was one of the most infamous assult carriers, being involved in all the final battles of the Human-Covenant War. It served both as a Jiralhanae-commanded ally of the Prophet of Truth during the Battle of Installation 05, and as a Swords of Sanghelios-led ally of the UNSC during the later engagements of the Battle for Earth and the Battle of Installation 00.
Service Record
The Shadow of Intent is perhaps the most well-known Covenant vessel to mankind, having been involved in the Battle of Installation 05, the Battle for Earth, and the Battle of Installation 00. While originally commanded by Jiralhanae, the Great Schism saw the ship change hands to Thel 'Vadam's Fleet of Retribution, after a strike-force led by Half-jaw Rtas 'Vadum commandeered the ship. The ship became the flagship of 'Vadam's fleet, winning the space-battle around High Charity and Installation 05, and partially glassing High Charity after it was overrun by the Flood.
After the Battle of Installation 05, the Shadow of Intent left for Earth, where it arrived immediately after the Flood-infected ship Indulgence of Conviction. It quickly moved in to contain the outbreak, glassing part of the continent of Africa to ensure the threat was eliminated. Now an ally of the UNSC after the Great Schism, Thel 'Vadam and the Shadow of Intent left in the Portal at Voi for the Ark, where it assisted in the battle against the Prophet of Truth and his forces. After Truth's assassination, the Shadow of Intent was used to recover any remaining Sangheili and human survivors, then evacuated them before the firing of Installation 08.
After the war, the ship was refitted and used on various missions throughout the galaxy, most notably a battle with the former Covenant Prelate Tem'Bhetek involving the unprovoked attack on Sangheili colonies, and culminated in the dismantling of a plan to use a prototype Halo to destroy all of Sanghelios.

Though first introduced in Halo 3, the Shadow of Intent has not made another appearance in a Halo game since. It has, however, reappeared in multiple reference books and the short story by the same name.
