The Battle of Netherop was a conflict between UNSC forces led by Spartan-II Blue Team and Covenant forces on the uninhabited hothouse world in June 2526. The battle was spurred by UNSC's desire to recover a downed Covenant frigate on the planet, though that turned out to be a trap set by Fleetmaster Nizat 'Kvarosee. The mission was not successful, though most UNSC forces were able to evacuate the planet before the Covenant gained total orbital superiority.
