CAREER SUMMARY

Ben Giraud was a war journalist, known for his work doctoring footage of the Battle of New Mombasa and other conflicts to give the appearance that the war effort was going better for humanity than it really was. Of all the footage Giraud created over his career, he is most famous for the photograph of John-117 in New Mombasa, featured on the cover of Halo 2.

Following the end of the war, Giraud took an early retirement from journalism, leaving Earth for an unknown colony where he quietly lived out the next few years of his life. In 2558, ONI contracted him again to create a fluff piece on Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, though in the course of his investigation, Giraud discovered the truth behind the Spartan-II program. He defected from ONI, attempting to spread the truth about the kidnapping of children to create super-soldiers. Though he was nearly successful, ONI managed to spin Giraud’s revelations into the ramblings of a conspiracy theorist, discrediting him and locking him away in Midnight Facility.
