3pm Modern History

During the Human-Covenant War, the Kig-Yar played a crucial role as scouts and snipers, utilizing their sharp senses to excel in these positions. While officially part of the Covenant hierarchy, many Kig-Yar refused to abandon their piratical roots. They piloted their own starships under distinct flags, engaging in trade with various species, including survivors from human colonies devastated by glassing. Notably, this was evident in The Rubble, a cluster of asteroids located in the 23 Librae system. The Rubble became a haven for refugees fleeing the events of the Fall of Madrigal from the late 2520s to the early 2530s.

In the aftermath of the war and the collapse of the Covenant, the Kig-Yar largely returned to their roots of trading and piracy. They either operated independently or aligned themselves with the numerous factions that emerged in the wake of the Covenant's downfall. Seeking new trade opportunities, some Kig-Yar even established settlements in the remaining human outer colonies, with Venezia being a notable example. Despite a few individuals aspiring to reunite the Kig-Yar under a centralized leadership, these efforts ultimately proved unsuccessful.

Worlds Worlds

The Kig-Yar have successfully established colonies on several worlds within their home star system of Y'Deio. While the majority of Kig-Yar no longer reside on their original homeworld of Eayn, approximately one-third of their population still considers it their home, making it the most densely populated Kig-Yar world in both the system and the galaxy.
